After several attempts, we finally made it to Saxon + Parole for brunch. The pictured eggs are poached perfection drenched in hollandaise. Instead of resting the eggs atop an english muffin, you have clean potato parmesan patties and delectable cured meat. It’s always nice to see scrambled eggs make it onto a brunch menu. Scrambled eggs are the eggs we all root for to make the cut. Scrambled eggs are the Muggsy Bogues of eggs.
Barrio 47’s soft curled scrambled eggs are a work of art. Drenched in lemon creme fraiche and sauce choron, the eggs sit atop finely sliced smoked salmon and a thin piece of toast to bring the crunch.
Order up some BMs with the gherkin to bring it home. YMCBM.
When it comes to brunch, Cafe Lift keeps it real. Anywhere that serves brunch all day seven days a week is okay in our book.
The pictured mushroom frittata is perfectly portioned with just the right amount of gorgonzola melted throughout. To the side you have a few diced breakfast potatoes and finely toasted whole grain bread without the butter. Clean.
Cafe Lift’s wait staff is super friendly and eager to fill up your coffee. Even if you’re not going to finish it, go ahead, ask for a refill. Not finishing your food is the new power move.

Hands down the cleanest brunch dish that I’ve ever had. Elephant & Castle’s pictured canyonland poached eggs with baby tomatoes, basil, tarragon, balsamic, wild mushrooms and avocado is a thing of beauty. And it tastes better than it looks. After you’ve punctured the eggs use your english muffin to soak up the delicious yolky mixture.

Steak & Eggs from Masa in #Boston, MA
Boston is known for two things. One of those things is brunch. The other remains unclear. This lovely city has become the brunch capital of the world solely because of the pictured dish. We only make up facts here at Whole Meal.
For a very reasonable price, you’re getting hooked up with Masa’s steak and egg dish. The skirt steak is not your everyday sorry slab of brunch meat. It’s honest, it’s bloody, and it’s perfectly delivered in the middle of eggs and roasted potatoes. Not a bad way to start off your hungover Sunday. Not bad at all.
Grab a forkful and wash it down with a gulp of your bloody mary for good measure.
Just take a minute to look at that dish. Stare into those yolks. Get to know your meal.
A little off the beaten path, Northern Spy Food Co. is tucked away between Avenues A and B and is well worth the Friday lunch break excursion. Every single item off the menu is farm fresh and sounds too good to be true. Don’t waste your time, or anyone else’s, trying to figure out what you’re in the mood for; just close your eyes and point.
The pictured polenta dish is clean and simple. The eggs are perfectly baked and the yolks are nice and runny with some arugula underneath. Blend it all together and enjoy.
Northern Spy’s playlist is on point too. Dine in bliss as The Unicorns serenade you in the background.
The steak is hiding beneath the sunny sides. There are no gimmicks to this classic dish. The steak is served whole, cooked perfectly, and supplies the protein you need to push through your day.
Not pictured is the super filling vanilla bean French toast, which looked delicious too.
Make sure to grab a reservation as The Smith is a prime weeknd brunch spot.
Agozar! comes correct with the exclamation mark in its title. You’ll be hyped before even setting foot in this establishment.
The unlimited drink specials during brunch are serious, and not to be fucked with.
Pictured is a truly unique brunch dish. Cuban beef hash, fried eggs, guac and yuca fries for all of my yucas no longer with us. Make sure to get a little bit of each in every forkful and penetrate that yolk immediately. Wash down with some hot sauce and be on your way.
If you don’t feel like waiting for 1.5+ hours for Saxon & Parole, Agozar! is a great plan B that’s plan A worthy.
The chipotle hollandaise is a nice touch to the traditional breakfast dish. Get a solid forkful of avocado with each bite and wash down with a virgin mimosa.
Finally got to Freemans for brunch. Apart from the food, the best part was the staring contests with the taxidermied game on the walls. Perhaps the work of Chuck Testa?
Pictured are cheddar grits with poached eggs and a roasted tomato. Include a little bit of each in every forkful for the ultimate experience. When you’re left with yolky slop, scoop it all up with your toast to join the clean plate club. Then chug the rest of your cocktail and join the I’m buzzed at 11am club. Both clubs are fun.
On your way out stop by the Freemans Sporting Club for a bespoke haircut or a locally made $1,680.00 peacoat.
